Bank Night Deposit
The phone woke me up early one morning on my day off. I was working at Busch Gardens at the time. It was a teller at the Seminole Bank. She said "Is this Lynn Ash?" I said "Yes." and she said "This is Ms. Stephens at the Seminole a Bank. Did you deposit a Busch Gardens paycheck in our night deposit last night?" I said "Yes, I did." She then said "No...you didn't. You deposited the paycheck stub. What did you do with the check?" I said "Well, I thought I threw the stub in the trash can there by the night deposit thing." She said " Let me send someone to see if it's in there." Soon, I can't remember if I waited or if she called me back, she told me "I'm sorry, the trash can has been emptied into the dumpster behind the bank. You're welcome to come down and see if you can find it if you'd like." so I did.

The dumpster was right by the back door of the bank. It was about three quarters full of lose papers and cardboard. It was green and was about as tall as I was. I climbed over the side and dove headlong into the mass of papers and began looking through the pages and pieces one by one by one. Every so often different bank employees would come to the back door and look out to see the person who would've pulled such a bonehead stunt and would offer words of encouragement. After about an hour and a half I FOUND IT! The employees all gave me cheers and thumbs up. I never deposited my paycheck stub again and also learned that you're supposed to keep them and not throw them away.
